📌 How AMU admissions work
School seats and University seats are two different Guides on amucontrollerexams.com. Outside school entry is only Class I, VI and IX. Class XI, diplomas and degrees sit in the University Guide. Some B.A. / B.Sc. honours use CUET (UG) — you still fill the AMU form. Counselling: counselling.amuonline.ac.in. Printed closing dates: schools 31 July 2026, University 31 August 2026.

AMU school admission – draw of lots
No written paper. Eligible forms go to a draw of lots. Age on 31 March 2026 as printed in the Schools Guide.
Class VI
Written 85 + interview 15
NCERT Class V. Languages 25 (40% required) + Maths 30 + EVS 30. Interview 15 marks, min 40%.
Class IX
Written 85 + interview 15
NCERT Class VIII. Same 85+15 formula as Class VI. Language section is qualifying.
Class XI / SSSC
Science · Commerce · Humanities
Senior Secondary School Certificate. AMU’s own stream-wise admission test, not the small Schools Guide only.

AMUEEE Paper I · ZHCET
100 MCQs on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Not JoSAA by default.
B.Arch
Paper I + Architecture + NATA
Same PCM paper as B.Tech plus an architecture / drawing paper at Aligarh. NATA also required.
Diploma Engg.
University Polytechnic
Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer and other codes. Class X Science + Maths.
B.A. (Hons.)
Arts / Social Sciences / FYUP
Many honours codes now use CUET UG (English + GAT). Still fill the AMU Controller form.
B.Sc. (Hons.)
Science / Life Sciences
Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Botany, Zoology and other codes. CUET or AMU test as per the Guide row.
B.Sc. Agriculture
Faculty of Agricultural Sciences
Listed as an AMU admission test in 2026 course tables. PCB / PCM as printed.
B.Com. (Hons.)
Faculty of Commerce
AMU written test. Accountancy, business studies, numericals, English, economic awareness.

Aligarh and AMU centres
Language, reasoning, numericals, GA. Centres include Malappuram / Murshidabad in recent tables.

Five-year integrated law
Not CLAT. AMU Faculty of Law paper: English, CA, legal aptitude, reasoning.

No private AMU medical paper. Use NEET UG plus the Controller medical notice.
Bridge Course
Recognised madrasa sanad path
Table IX sanads. Bridge / SSSC-equivalent so students can later join regular UG.

Foreign nationals & NRI children
Separate supplement PDF. FN school seats may skip the test; NRI children usually sit the same paper.
